"Mia e Ladra" album release

Hi there, we’re Miss Cat e o Rapaz Cão, a two piece band/duo in its original format, and we need your help to release our first album entitled “Mia e Ladra”.

After having already raised part of the investment needed for the recording and production of our new work, we now need your help in this final stage to release our work on physical format along with its presentation video clip.

About the author

They call themselves "two vagrants looking for nourishment" but in fact they are two heck of artists! She is Catarina Ribeiro and carries a sensual, warm and dashing voice, as insidious as a tropical climate can be. She meows and kisses, she caresses and bites. She is, after all, Miss Cat, a full-scale feline. He is a boy. His name is Leonel Mendes but he is also an expert in disguises. Most of the times call himself Leonel Mendrix and are often transfigured into Sinesteta Albino or into Rapaz Improvisado (whose recently edited work has charmed everyone who comes across it). So here we have Rapaz Improvisado as a canine, and that is why he is given the name Rapaz Cão (in eng.: Boy Dog). This is proof that cats and dogs can get along. Get along very well!

The duo Miss Cat e o Rapaz Cão own a filmic sonority populated by black and white references, where there float the goasts of Marc Ribot, Laurie Anderson, Diamanda Galás, Jarboe, Tom Waits, Legendary Pink Dots, Silver Mt Zion, and a considerable horde of other unidentifiable figures, also they certainly of recognized pedigree. Live, the duo mine up a remarkable amount of instruments, paraphernalia, essential for the creation of their sound pieces, all of them imagined in a way, but constructed live always in different ways. And it is there, in this volatility of execution, with space reserved for a good margin of improvisation, that Miss Cat e o Rapaz Cão end up making a difference.

Budget and due dates

The total amount of money raised will allow us to master and print our new album in a cd-digipack format, it will also be used for its design and photography and for filming the video clip for the song “Come Closer”.

If with your help we’re able to achieve the needed amount/goal, 5%+VAT of such amount will go to the platform PPL, and 2% will pay for the fees of the payment partners’ services such as PayPal, ATM transactions, etc.
If by any chance our goal isn’t met, all donations will be restored, no costs charged.

Recording and mixing phases are already finalized and the mastering it’s in its early stages. The video clip will serve as promotion for our album, which it will be released in concert this March/Abril, with our Orquestra Decadente.

This crowdfunding will be 60 days long and will be publicized through several social media platforms, cultural associations with whom we’ve been working, and with local and regional media.

Simultaneously, we intent to promote the album and this campaign using the presentation video clip.

We’re expecting to get an initial help of around 50 people, among family and friends, and this initiative will be publicized via email, facebook, local and regional press, private messaging and concerts.
