Cinema is a fascinating world of which I am determined to be a part of.
I have already had some participations, as a director, and at this moment appeared the perfect idea to return and embrace this passion, so I need your help.
I have a special interest in the horror genre and I intend to make a short film so that I can participate in two festivals of enormous prestige: the Fantasporto and the Motelx.
It's an horror film called "Carolina", with a very simple premise. Two men are locked in a room, and they fight each other for the love of a woman. Any object present in the room is valid for the dispute. The film will be quite bloody, reminiscent of any Tarantino movie, where the smallest wound releases an insane amount of blood. I also have inspiration for the film, directors like Takashi Mike and his film ICHI The Killer, and Sam Raimi with the movie, Evil Dead. I will use ridicule and absurdity at the most exaggerated level, in order to create an innovative and interesting narrative, adding to it a hint of black humor. Any body part may be subject to the violence of these two gentlemen.
To achieve my vision some help is needed from donors, otherwise the dream becomes impossible to accomplish. All the money invested will be dedicated to the production of the short film, namely for the purchase of a camera suitable for the project and for the acquisition of products such as: silicone and liquid latex for the necessary prosthesis.
The script is already finalized, the locations for the shoot are already assured and I find myself casting for the characters in the movie.
In a larger vision I hope to be able to create a studio that has the capacity to support other projects similar to this one, so that the Portuguese cinema of terror and fantasy can be exposed to the world.
