Recording a CD celebrating 45 years of music:

This album contains a celebration of 45 years of music. This new work brings together seven original songs with an additional four versions of some of my most successful ones with new arrangements.

The album will feature approximately 40 guest artists including lyricists, songwriters, instrumentalists, national and international singers with whom I will perform duets, namely: Dany Silva (Cape Verde), Fernando Girão (Angola) Costa Neto (Mozambique), Sílvia Nazário (Brazil), among other singers and instrumentalists which will also participate.
Names such as the legendary Howie Casey, saxophonist of the Wings and Paul Mccartney, a section of brass, a gospel choir are among the surprises forthcoming ...

The project is ambitious, my commitment and my heart are completely immersed in this work. I have the collaboration the well renowned Enzo d'Aversa, producer and arranger, who will be coordinating and directing.

About the author

The artist Beto, known from his work on The Windies, or Beto Kalulu as he is best known today, began his career in Luanda 45 years ago integrating the group Brotolândia although his success truly began with The Windies in late 60's and early 70's. 

All those who lived in Luanda in the 60s and 70s remember the drummer who mesmerized the audience with his art and characteristic head of hair! 
He arrived in Portugal in 1975 settling in Algarve and became a unique figure due to his instrumental competence, originality and cordiality. His success "Praia do Carvoeiro" where he mixes African sounds with the influences of Algarve's sun has become a hymn to the Mediterranean beaches.

Beto has 3 albums with to his name and many others as a participant. His style fits into the World Music category where the Afro sound mixes with Latin / Funk and Pop-Rock.
He has performed in several places around the world such as Madagascar, South Africa, Angola, USA, Brazil, throughout Europe and has been living in Algarve (Portugal) for more than thirty years with his wife and son.

Budget and due dates

The amount requested will cover

• Recording expenses 2.250 €;
• Payment to participating musicians: 3.000 €;
• Mixing and Masterimg CD 1.200 €.
• Commission costs of 5% of PPL + VAT 430,50 €
• Costs of commissions of payments of 2% + VAT 172,20 €

 Work is started, pre-production and arrangements are finalized. I started the recordings in  April 2017 and the album is due to start in August.
