Portuguese Scientific Commission FIGAC 2017 invites 6 European Emerging Artists to get in an Artistic Residence to be held in Viana do Castelo from June 1 to 8, 2017
The International Forum of Artistic and Cultural Management is a scientific and cultural event that has been held in the Northern region of Portugal since 2010 within the scope of the scientific area of Arts, Design and Humanities and of the degree course in Artistic and Cultural Management of the Institute Polytechnic of Viana do Castelo.
Continuing the project launched in 2015, within FIGAC 2017 will be an Artist-in-Residence with the aim of promoting opportunities for the mobility of emerging European artists and for the circulation of their cultural and creative works.
Therefore, the Scientific Committee of FIGAC 2017 invites 6 European Emerging Artists to participate in an Artist-in-Residence that will take place in Viana do Castelo from June 1 to 8, 2017, and will have as its purpose the collective creation of an artistic project that will be public presented on June 8, 2017.
The participants in the Artist-in-Residence will be installed in an apartment located in Viana do Castelo, equipped for 8 people, with full board (accommodation and three meals a day) will have at their disposal:
- Several IPVC facilities for the development of work (outdoor amphitheater, plastic arts studio, dramatic expression room, multimedia room, etc.);
- Opportunity to make a set of contacts with artists and cultural spaces of the region;
- Individually a financial support of 100€ for travel expenses from the place of origin to Viana do Castelo;
- Collectively, an overall support of 300€ for charges with materials to be acquired during the Artist-in-Residence in Viana do Castelo and that are necessary for the production of the collective artistic project.
Within the framework of the Artist-in-Residence, a collective exhibition / installation with an individual work by each of the 6 participating artists will also be inaugurated on June 2 and a round-table discussion will take place on June 8 to discuss the experience lived by the resident artists.
