Neighbors is a project aimed at all people with mobility and mobility difficulties, which aims to prevent domestic accidents, namely falls.

From this, Casa Sénior emerged - a website where you can benefit from updated information, simple answers to common problems and explanatory videos.

The objective is to increase access for the needy population to resources and technical aid to prevent domestic accidents.

A domestic accident worsens the quality of life of those who suffer it. We believe that access to appropriate materials and technical aids minimizes the risk of domestic accidents that impact the lives of people with functional disabilities. There are periods in life when people become temporarily disabled, so they must have access to the necessary resources to optimize their safety at home.

The project revolves around three main axes: referral , evaluation and intervention .

Every month we receive referrals from people who need adaptations (through technical aids) to their homes to prevent domestic accidents, which is why our stock is currently quite low.

About the author

Passo Positivo, based in Matosinhos , was born in 2010 through the willpower of a group of friends who voluntarily built and developed it.

Our mission is to guarantee the safety and well-being of vulnerable people or those working in crisis situations, filling gaps in support in complementarity with other institutions, promoting the increase of their skills and creating an impact on different generations for the exercise of citizenship global.

In this sense, we have three major projects:

• The Diaper Bank where we collect and donate diapers, as well as training sessions on the proper use of absorbent material for incontinence.
• Neighbors , for the prevention of domestic accidents among the population with functional disabilities. We carry out home visits and provide support material to prevent domestic accidents.
• Humanitus educates professionals and/or volunteers for humanitarian action, and raises awareness of active citizenship in school and work.

In addition to these main projects, we developed an entire internal Volunteer Program and belong to the Social Network of Matosinhos and Valongo.

Currently, our team consists of two full-time people: Project Coordination and Marketing.

We prioritize professional volunteering, which is why our governing bodies are made up of volunteers.

Budget and due dates

Based on the acquisition of support material, we used the Valliscare company website to prepare our quote.

We request €1000 to cover the fees charged by PPL .

Therefore, the campaign should end in June, so that we can subsequently make the acquisition (adapting the budget to the support obtained).
