We plan to organize a tuk-tuk tour around the city of Porto and purchase materials. Enabling contact with enriching activities that promote physical and mental health, artistic expression and stimulation of the imagination.

We are third year interns of the Degree in Social Education. We are currently carrying out our internship at the Corujeira Day and Social Center, at the Soutelo Social Center, located in Campanhã, in Praça da Corujeira. We would like to make a small dream come true by providing a special moment for the seniors at the Corujeira Day Center.

We plan to organize an unforgettable tuk-tuk tour around the city of Porto and acquire essential materials for the development of activities appreciated and suggested by seniors.

Our intention when planning this trip to Porto goes much further than just offering a simple tour of the undefeated city. Given that many elderly people are in social isolation due to various factors such as socioeconomic vulnerability, loss of family members, mobility restrictions and reduced social interactions, by carrying out this activity we believe that by providing moments of leisure, removing them from the comfort zone and challenging them to the unknown, we are enabling contact with enriching activities that promote physical, mental and emotional health.

With these experiences, we seek to encourage the interaction and social integration of older people in the local community and also to raise awareness among the community of their needs, potential and capabilities, thus contributing to the reduction of social isolation, to the promotion cultural enrichment, combating ageism and also promoting active and healthy aging. The acquisition of essential material for the development of artistic expression activities, a powerful tool to promote creativity, self-expression and emotional well-being, will promote creativity, self-expression, self- and hetero-knowledge, acceptance of others and good -being emotional, enabling moments of sharing, conviviality, stimulation of imagination and memory.

We are trainees in our third year of a degree in Social Education. We are currently doing our internship at the Corujeira Day and Social Center of the Centro Social de Soutelo, located in Campanhã, in Praça da Corujeira. We plan to organize an unforgettable tuk-tuk ride through the city of Porto and buy essential materials for the development of activities enjoyed and suggested by the seniors.
