Academia do Futuro (AdF) is an educational association that provides free behavioural and scholar services to children with difficulties from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles from Lisbon.
Academia do Futuro is a non-profit association that provides support to children in the Lisbon area and works only with volunteers.
Currently, our focus is to get financial support to ensure we can continue to help the children we work with. This is the first year since the foundation of AdF in which we do not have any type of aid and funds, and faced with this adversity, all the volunteers involved are committed to continue with the project during this experimental year, in order to raise funds and aid so we can prove that it is possible to continue with this project.
Although we know this will be quite a challenge, we also strongly believe in the impact and influence that we have with the hundreds of children we support, that are distributed around 7 schools in Lisbon. And this year serves exactly to prove that this project is important and has potential to go even further.
Without financial resources it becomes very difficult to face all the expenses that we have to face, namely the insurance of volunteers, rental expenses of our headquarters, website and maintenance in general. And this is where your role is important! We want to keep AdF active, ensuring that we can continue in the next school year.
We believe we can make a difference in 1h30. Are you willing to help us change the world?

About the author
Academia do Futuro is a non-profit association, created five years ago, that provides free behavioral and scholar support to children with difficulties from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles from Lisbon.
Our premise is simple: we believe that through personal development and personalized support to each student, school success is something that comes as a natural consequence. And at AdF we want to play an active role in the education of children, providing services in the areas of pedagogy, child psychology and sociology, in order to stimulate scholar and personal development and long-term success for students.
And how do we make this personalized support available? Through our volunteers! Each volunteer performs individual sessions with a student for 1h30, based on activities tailored to their needs.
About the AdF Family:
Our team currently has about 85 volunteers, among them a General Director, and members of 3 departments (Human Resources, Marketing and Communication, Psychology and Pedagogy). It is important to note that none of the volunteers, including management and members of departments, receive any kind of monetary reward.
The new volunteers enter the family as Tutors, and should have the following characteristics:
- Having between 19 and 30 years old, and enjoy to work with children;
- Easy-going and eager to help;
- A great sense of responsibility and organization;
- Resilience to endure the most difficult moments;
- Empathy and good communication skills;
- Availability to work in a school located in the Lisbon area.
