Taste Around Lisbon is the roaming restaurant that shows the best of the portuguese culture in a totally innovative concept of Tourism.

Taste Around Lisbon is the restaurant that wanders around the city and gives the chance to meet the best of the portuguese culture in a totally innovative concept.

Lisbon is the city of the moment. Those who live there want to stay there. Those who have visited it want to come back and those who haven´t are surely planning to. 

In fact, the incredible growth of Lisbon´s tourism levels have created an enormous expectation  in those who are planning a trip to the city. 

It is in this context that “Taste Around Lisbon” emerges. With the goal to match those tourists´  expectations, this project creates value to the city and is pioneer in the category it belongs: moving restaurants.

The project consists in the rehabilition and transformation of a classic double-deck bus in an authentic restaurant on wheels that serves the best of portuguese gastronomy. “Taste Around Lisbon” has a unique city as scenery, full of its monuments and history.

Our team has participated on the start-ups contest “BET24” and is one of the three teams selected to the final! 

The big winner will be selected based on the goals achieved through this crowdfunding campaign. This means that we need the help of those who believe in our project, with expected debut for 2016.

To compensate our supporters we have prepared a set of rewards for the different types of donnations, which can be seen in the column on the right. 

We thank all and every kind of help to achieve the following 3 goals: 

1st – To be the first team to reach 1000€;

2nd – To be the team with the higher number of donnaters

3rd – To be the team with highest raised money 

Each of these goals is worth 1 point and it is crutial to assure at least 2 of them in order to win the final BET24 prize: a trip to London TechHub + 1000€!

The money raised in the crowdfunding will also be used in "Taste Around Lisbon" project, as long as it surpasses 1000€. (Which is almost impossible not to happen!)

About the author

"Taste Around Lisbon" is the development of Carlota Souza Araújo's master thesis in Interior Design: "217- The Roaming Restaurant" which concerned a detailed rehabilitation project of an old bus converting it in a moving restaurant.

Believing in this project's potential, a multidisciplinary enterpreunerial team gathered and created a sustainable business model. The team is composed by 5 elements:

Carlota Souza Araújo (Lisbon, 1988), Degree in Indusustrial Design in Faculdade de Belas-artes de Lisboa and Master in Interior Design in the Decorative Arts School - Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo.

Carolina Salema Garção (Lisbon, 1989), Degree and Master in Management in Faculdade Nova de Lisboa, School of Business and Economics

João Schedel (Lisbon,1988) , Degree in Architecture in Faculdade de Arquitectura de Lisboa and Master in Architecture specialized in Urban Planning and Land Management.

Augusto Souza Araújo (Lisbon, 1995), student in the 2nd year of Engineering and Industrial Management at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Diogo Trindade (Lisbon, 1988), Degree and Master in Engineering and Industrial Management in Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
