This is the first CD of the Portuguese percussionist Vasco Ramalho. The marimba will be the main actor, the portuguese Fado and the Brazilian Choro will be the secondary players.
The idea for this CD came about a few years ago when I finished my postgraduate course in marimba soloist at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp - Belgium with the marimbist Ludwig Albert, who encouraged me to adapt the marimba to fado. It was then that I met the Brazilian guitarist Tuniko Goulart to whom I launched the challenge of producing a disc of fado and choros, a challenge that was promptly accepted. All the arrangements and adaptations of the themes were made by the two of us at the TG Home Studio in the Algarve, without any great hurry. As a good Alentejano (region of Portugal) I like to do things calmly and calmly, and there is ready to leave this work that counts on the Precious collaboration of names like Filipa Pais and Dino de Santiago in the voice and Edu Miranda in the mandolin.
