The idea came up from a facebook group created by one of the team members. The group was aimed at people who were willing to share car rides between Lisbon and Oporto. It reached nearly 7000 members in just two years.
The daily post activity is heavy (on average the group has 42 posts = 1302/month) and starts to become confusing. That's the problem we want to solve.
We have spoken with a lot of people from the group and it became clear that we needed to go further… Let's create the best portuguese carsharing platform online!
UM COCHE is a portuguese common term for "a little bit", but is "a car" as well. It was the perfect term to represent "a little bit of a car". In the end of the day, you only need a little bit of a car to make a journey.
We believe that we will revolutionize the concept of carsharing which is not popular in Portugal. There are many praises to the Facebook group, thousands of shared rides and a lot of money spared during the two years of activity! The willing to make this movement grow is huge!
It's great to see people realizing that carsharing is the way to go. It can save you money but especially it can be fun and be the link to new friendships.
You'll se that it has never been easier to get a ride to where you're going! Share a little bit of what you've got!
