The National Meeting of University Theatre (ENTU) is back to Faro in Lethes Theatre. Between 27 and 30 March will be shared the best there is in the current landscape
Sin-Cera is organizing the fifth edition of ENTU (National Meeting of Academic Theatre), an event that aims to promote the sharing of experiences and discover new ways of artistic expression and movement, put the city of Faro on the map of the theatre festivals, promote Art Education in the young generation, create fruitful partnerships with other groups of academic theatre, intervene in matters of training and awareness of the audience and show people the work we have been doing while representing the University of the Algarve.
Now in its 5th edition, ENTU had the privilege of having the participation of some famous academic theatre groups such as GRETUA, TUM, TEUC, Cénico de Direito, CITAC, TUTRA, TA, GTL, NNT, LTA and TUP.
The first edition of ENTU (1993) was promoted by José Louro, a renowned teacher and educator who was also the founder of Sin-Cera. It was this prestigious man of theatre who stimulated the group in the nineties, a decade marked by performances of great quality, four ENTU editions and the participation in major national academic theatre meetings, such as ACTUS, FATAL and the Academic Theatre Festival of Beira Interior.
The National Meeting of Academic Theatre, ENTU, was a milestone in the life of Sin-Cera for its innovation, reinvention and sharing of new ways of scenic art.
We intend to organize the fifth edition of ENTU in March 2014. The event will be held for four days (from 27th to 30th) in the magnificent Lethes Theatre.
The meeting will put on stage three plays from three remarkable academic theatre groups: TEUC (Students Theatre Group of the University of Coimbra) , TUP (Academic Theatre of Porto) and Sin-Cera (Theatre Group of the University of the Algarve) .
To make this Project real we have the contribution and partnership of important entities such as ACTA (Algarve’s Theatre Company) and the Regional Directorate of Culture in the Algarve.
There are also some well known important people who are willing to cooperate in this event. It’s worth mentioning Rui Cabrita, the director of the play presented by Sin-Cera, the well known actor and director Luis Vicente (ACTA), the director Pedro Monteiro and the actor Pedro Pinto, among others who are not yet confirmed
Thus, with a renewed cast and bringing new projects on stage the Academic Theatre Group Sin-Cera hopes to succeed in this event, meeting the audience expectations and continuing to promote the national and regional culture.
