The main goal of our project - “Growing up with affection” - is to promote the healthy psychosocial development of children through three workshops with psychopedagogic activities for groups of 20 children with ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old.

In these workshops, children will be challenged to represent their families, to identify emotional ties which attach them to the different members of their family, to discover that, inside themselves, they have all the resources they need do deal with their daily lives and accomplish whatever they want and to identify the characteristics they have and those they wish to obtain.

Each workshop will consist of two different sessions (one for children from 6 to 8 years old and another for children from 9 to 12 years old) and will involve fun activities such as drawing, painting, collage and other activities of plastic expression and relaxation exercises.

Each session will have approximately 150 minutes and will be monitored by psychologists.

These workshops will be held at Mouradia – Casa Comunitária da Mouraria at the Associação Renovar a Mouraria who was kind enough to lend us the appropriate space for such activities. The dates are 15th, 22nd and 29th of September and 6th, 13th and 20th of October.

We intend for these workshops to be free so that every children and family can have the possibility to participate. So, this is where we need your help! Help us make this possible by contributing with as much as you can.

About the author

Psicólogos Associados is an outpatient clinic born in 2003 by the hands of Dr.ª Ana Cardoso de Oliveira, clinical psychologist, and its team is composed of several psychologists, two speech therapists, one neurolinguistic therapist and one nutritionist.

Our goal is to create, with those who seek our help, pathways, affection, lifestyles and stories hoping to help them in the change process, promoting their well being and improving their quality of life.

Besides giving psychological support to children, adolescents and adults we also do group dynamics (in schools and enterprises) and different kinds of workshops. In the way, we aim to connect with people in a whole different level beyond psychotherapy which can become expensive and take a lot of time.

This project comes from our desire to open our door to all the community, especially those who cannot afford do pay for these kind of services. In this way, we offer families and children with economic difficulties the possibility to find new pathways with us and to “grow up with affection”.

Budget and due dates
