Hello everybody!

We are a team of 23 scientists and we are going to participate in a crowdfunding football game where we will play against the Veterans of Benfica, in the synthetic just nearby the Estadio da Luz, the mythic stadium of Benfica. Our goal is to raise funds for the Maratona da Saúde. Support this cause with any donation you can, and support our team (or Benfica) on the 16th of March at 17h30! The funds will be applied in biomedical research projects developed in portuguese institutions.

Let’s join efforts to accelerate the treatment of diseases that have still no cure. Funding excellent research projects in the field of Health is opening the way for the discovery of new and better treatments for our patients. Investing in Science is ensuring to our families a better future. And it is also a way to render a tribute to all our family members and friends that we were not able to help.

Importantly, we would like to thank Sport Lisboa e Benfica to be part of this initiative and also to thank Associação Desportiva de Oeiras for all the support for our training sessions.

The first edition of Maratona da Saúde will be dedicated to cancer. The statistics show that 1 in each 3 of us will have cancer. Joint this initiative to change these numbers.
