We are running this campaign between people from Brazil and Portugal to raise money to feed Pedro, a very special boy, 9 years old, from São Paulo but with relatives living in Portugal:)
Hello, my name is Pedro! I would like to share with you a little of my story... today I am 9 years old, I was born in a twin pregnancy due to metabolic problems at 3 months old, one of the babies died in utero, from then on I had sequelae and was born with grade IV cerebral palsy. I'm totally dependent, I don't walk or talk, I'm a wheelchair user....2 years ago I had a gastrostomy because I lost the ability to swallow...since then the doctors prescribed an enteral diet for my nutrition.
From then on, another struggle began with the nutritionist. My mother ordered the diet at the high-cost pharmacy because this food is expensive... and I need 5 meals of 300 ml each daily. And just 1 unit of 500 ml costs around 10.00 euros. During the 2-year period that I underwent surgery, my mother managed to withdraw it only once and the amount given to me lasted only 3 months and this food ended in March. Since then, I have been eating food homemade but I've been losing a lot of weight because I can't get the full supplementation I need...
So that's a little of my story and that's what I want to ask for your help on!
