231km of IRONMAN Frankfurt = 500 € of goods for the Pediatric School of the IPO Lx

Fund raising for purchase of school equipment for the Pediatric Service School of the Lisbon IPO.

Is the pain temporary? Yes, for us amateur athletes yes .. but not for the children who attend the IPO Lisbon School of Pediatrics, and it is for those children that I want to dedicate this campaign of fundraising.

When we propose to do something "epic" we should leave a mark also on those around us. The most diverse forms of cancer do not choose ages, creeds or sexes .. it is so arbitrary that it can affect anyone at any time, without a well-defined cause and a 100% effective treatment causes suffering, pain, anguish and despair ... sometimes more to those who live outside it than to those who have settled for the disease.

If you ask me if I like to do this campaign, no !! I preferred not to do it. But reality exists and we have to face like it exist.

I remember when I was a child to enjoy drawing, a house, a car, a sun .. what I saw I drew .. I was fortunate to have the goods at my disposal without having to make requisitions, to go through bureaucracies that draw the pleasure of that hour and then draw ....

In order to fill this "gap", the campaign will be used to collect funds, which will be converted into assets and donated to the IPO School of Pediatrics.

On April 8th I will do the first long triathlon of these season in Setúbal and on July 8 the IRONMAN in Frankfurt where I will have to swim 3.8km, pedal 185km and run 42.2 ... On July 8, 2018, I intend to be the Finisher of IRONMAN 140.6 in Frankfurt, Germany. (3.8k swim, 185k bike, 42.2 run), and know that WE ALL made a child smile.

Diogo Vieira, topography technician, resident in Lagos, Algarve, 42 years old.

The passion for triathlon arises in 2016 after participating in the Triathlon of Sagres.

A demanding sport in terms of training and time management.

In 2017 I am finisher of the Ironman 70.3 in Barcelona and Cascais (70.3 is half the distance that I propose to do now) and in February 2018 of the Seville Marathon.

At the end of 2017, I join IRONMAN 140.6, but I know that the course to be done would be painful, but temporary pain. A pain not comparable to the parents who leave their children in the IPO in boarding school. Thus came the idea of trying to minimize the pain of these children.

In contact with Professor Magda Magalhães of IPO I asked what I could help, I was given a list of current needs, and it is based on the same list that we will act.

Budget and due dates

With 500€ we can buy printers, paper, color pencil and loads of other small instruments
