We've turned to PPL in an attempt to promote our space and our concept: ethical footwear, ecological and animal frendly!

Sapato Verde is a shoe shop located in the center of Cascais, founded on a philosophy for sustainability, ecological footwear, ethical, vegan and mostly Portuguese.

Sapato Verde arose from the need to respond the demand of vegan footware, in alternative to animal skin, based on ethical consumption and environmental sustainability. As such, anything that involves the store's physical space is also focused on this aspect, and the entire decoration is based on recycling and recovering of materials. We focused on the reuse of pallets, coil reels, plastic bottles, boat ropes and even stones.

We've turned to PPL in an attempt to promote our space and our concept: ethical footwear, ecological and animal frendly!

In addition to shoes we also sell accessories and cosmetics that follow the same concept: respect for environmental ethics.

About the author

Alexandra Pardal - I've always worked in the administrative area, but it felt that something was missing. This project came up at a family gathering. We started to study the viability of openning a space based in an ecological basis, aiming at sustainability of the planet, where we could find leather-free footwear.

Alexandra had the support of her husband, Mário Curado. The artist, Inês Pardal, helps out regarding the store image.

Budget and due dates

We used microcredit to launch our project, however the available funds did not match the requested amount which had been calculated on the basis of our investment plan. We seek support primarily for propagation of our space and concept, promote sales, allowing an investment in other products, so that we can respond to the needs of our customers. With the help of investors, we will be able to acquire more footwear brands and accessories, expanding our offer. The next step will be putting a new brand of footwear with a more affordable value and different than our store already has.
