Book "O Mistério da Fénix"

Support the Portuguese edition of the third book from the saga “Sol Nascente” (Rising Sun) from Sofia Monteiro.

The purpose of this project is to support the Portuguese edition of the third book from the saga “Sol Nascente” (Rising Sun) from Sofia Monteiro. 

The book with title “O Mistério da Fénix”, which can be freely translated to “The Mystery of the Phoenix”. 

With sixteen years old, Sofia is one of the youngest National writers of fiction/fantasy books. With this project we aim to conclude this series of books allowing the readers to finally learn the destiny of the main characters which played a major role in the first two stories, the  "O Mistério do Sótão“ (The Mystery of the Attic) and “O Mistério da Safira“ (The Mystery of the Sapphire). 

Crowdfunding can be an important, maybe decisive factor bringing into the market authors which are not yet known and as such have difficulties entering this difficult editorial market. As such this project is an opportunity having more people engaged and also bringing the book into the spotlight.

About the author

Paulo Monteiro is the father from Sofia. MSc in Computer Science, works in the Telecom Industry as Project Manager. Lives in Queluz/Portugal.

Odete Monteiro is the mother from Sofia. Economist, she’s the author of the illustrations.

Sofia Monteiro, 16 years old, she’s the author from „Sol Nascente“ (Rising Sun) trilogy. She’s in the 11º school year in the Secondary school Padre Alberto Neto in Queluz. She started writing with 11 years old. This last book is written since beginning of 2013, and it is waiting the closure of this project to be published.

Leonel Monteiro, 13 years old. He’s in the 8º school year in the Secondary school Padre Alberto Neto in Queluz. He’s the co-author of the illustrations.

This project is motivated by the experienced dificulties of the unknown authors accessing the editorial market, where rarelly an editor takes a risk publishing an unknown author. For a young author these costs are too high.
