knok is always near:
- Through GPS, the patient can see who the nearby doctors are and request any of them. The doctor will never be far
- In a different city or country, in an unknown health system, a patient can find a doctor rated by patients, just as at home.
knok is simple:
- 4 taps to request the specific doctor that a patient wants to set an appointment with: tap, tap, tap, tap. Done!
- Very simple user interface for the doctor that guides him to the patient via GPS
knok is safe:
- Braintree (a PayPal company) is the company we are using to process payments
- Patient data will be encrypted and confidential

About the author
knok is a start-up commited to change the way healthcare is delivered in Portugal and in the world! knok is launching its app in November and has commited all its time and money to build a solid and reliable app which is going to fulfil both doctors and patients needs.
We will launch is Lisbon and Porto but we want to expand to other European cities as well in the future.
The Knok team is built by 8 people all with complementary skills: Medicine, Pharmacy, Management, Economics and Engineering. Together we believe we have a strong value proposition to bring to patients and physicians.
Who are we?
Jose Bastos - Economist and with two kids he is totally devoted to the project. He believes that it is possible to change the world for the better with tecnology.
Pedro Moreira - Engineer full of curiosity - has three very active kids and has at home one of the most criticla assessor of the project at home...his wife, also a doctor.
Carolina Relvas - The only woman in the group - a Pharmacist with a management degree too, she is in charge of disseminating knok the best way possible. She lives between Lisbon and London and hopes to be able to export this idea internacionally.
Antonio Miranda - the third father in this group - he is responsible for keeping the finances on track!
Tiago Alves,João Magalhães, Tiago Craveiro and André Sousa - they are the three millenials of the group - 3 scientists (2 doctors and 1 Biochemist) together with an Engineer wwant to change the way Medicine is delivered. They have 5 apps in the app store, one of these completelly dedicated to science ("The Scientist").
We do not want knok to be the best well kept scret from Portugal and from the world so we need to spred the word about our app!
With the money we raise, we will be able to do a launch campaign for knok.
Budget and due dates
knok will launch the app in November with about 70 doctors being part of our team. In order to reach out to more people, we need to produce a video explaining the use cases of knok - this will help us spread the word in the media.
