Gt Team/Art in World Endurance Series Barcelona - 24 Hours Slot Car

We are a Slot Car Club intend to participate in this event which takes place on 14, 15 and 16 March 2014 at the Civic Center "Les Cotxeres Sants" in Barcelona.

We are a Slot Car Club with a lot of National awards either as International level and we want to have a presence through our best team on the most important Slot Car Race, proof that has a total 32 teams of 4-6 riders from various cities in Europe where the ultimate prize is an allusive race car and still the best 5 teams a trophy. In addition to these premiums and depending on our performance we will give our best to we still can win a future sponsorship of some brand related modality because a good result in this test makes us considered one of the best teams in the sport European / World (our sport, Slot Car, level is not very famous outside Europe what makes Europe already are the best teams and riders).

The club founded in 2003 currently has a dozen members, has changed the past year of facilities and are now located in "Praceta Camilo Castelo Branco" in Braga (next to the train station).

In 2013 we won the Championship XXI Century (most important championship slot clubs from the north), winning the 24 Hours of Trofa in July (race with teams from across the Iberian Peninsula), and in November consecrate ourselves Vice Champions in Ninco World Cup (race with teams from Spain, Portugual, Italy, South Africa and the UK). Already in 2014 we won again the 24 Hours of Trofa (17,18 and 19 January).

This trip to Barcelona has several costs, such as the race entry, travel, accommodation and even all meals outside the home and of course the money spent on preparing the cars and taking into account that we are a team of 5 in which only two work and the rest are still in University, the income are near zero for many expenses.

This event takes place on 14,15 and 16 of March 2014 at the Civic Center "Les Cotxeres Sants" in Barcelona.

About the author

Augusto Amorim - 45 years, government employee, achieve 3rd place in the European Championship Slot Car with this same team also in Barcelona (already extinct but considered the hardest Race of Slot Car).

Aurélio Ribeiro - 24 years, Studing Accounting in ISCAP, pilot of SC Matosinhos that the 24 Hours July got the 2nd place , already has several appearances in international competitions such as the 3rd place at the European Championship in which he also race for Gt Team/Art.

José Marques - 20 years Studing Management at the University of Minho since he joined the first team in May last year, the team finally win their first 24 hours, as is ascertained in 1st place for the World Cup and get 2nd Place.

Luís Azevedo - 19 years Student of electronics engineering at the University of Minho, considered pilot ''Estrella' by' the most important Slot Car magazine in the world, and regarded as the best national pilot. It also has many titles individual and collective in several races in which the team has always worked with GT Team/Art.

Paulo Mendes - 42 years Mechanic. Not only Slot Car pilot but also full size competition, also with many appearances in national and international competitions since 2011 to run for this team.

The motivation of the entire team is able to win because with the latest achievements we are able to bring another Trophy for Portugal.
