The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics class of Lisboa Ginásio Clube, need a new beam and a carpet protection to train.

The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics class of Lisboa Ginásio Clube has amazing girls aged 6 to 20. They study, have friends, have fun and do Gymnastics; they work out hard, every day, at least 2 hours a day. Susana, Diana, Anita, Matilde, Jade, Marta, Xana, Maria, Inês, Carolina, Margarida, Madalena, Constança, Carlota, Daniela, Ana, Mariana, Leonor, Teresa, Aida, Filipa, Sofia, Prya... share the same passion: Women’s Artistic Gymnastics! They do Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor.

Gymnastics is their passion, they are perfectionists; they like to show their skills to family and friends in Exhibitions and they also compete. The little ones compete at Nationals and the older gymnasts have been to the European and World Championships and the "Universíadas".

Over 35 gymnasts spend long hours every week learning new skills on all pieces of apparatus and they need a new Beam and a Protection Mat, to learn new and more difficult skills, to become better gymnasts and fulfill their dreams.

These are some of the results from last season:

National Championships: Elite – Espoirs A - Team – 3rd; Espoirs B - Mariana Marianito – All around – 3rd; Vault – 2nd; Floor – 3rd

Base: Espoirs B - Team – 2nd; Juniors - Team – 3rd; Sofia Pinheiro – All around – 3rd; Floor – 2nd; Susana Francês - Vault – 3rd.

Troféu José António Marques: Elite - Juniors - Matilde Lourenço - Vault – 1st; Floor – 3rd; Seniors - Catarina Martins - Trave - 3º

Base – Espoirs B - Madalena Martins – Beam and Floor – 1st

Torneio de Preparação: Elite - Seniors - Marta Damásio – All around, Bars and Floor – 2nd; Vault and Beam – 3rd

International competitions: Alexandra Choon – Anadia World Cup; Universiad (Kazan)

About the author

I was a WAG gymnast for 13 years, and competed at the European and World Championships and at the Universiad.

I have a degree in Physical Education and am a High School teacher. I am also the WAG coach at the Lisboa Ginásio Clube. It is with great pleasure that I work with my gymnasts and watch them grow, be happy and succeed. Over the years some of our gymnasts have been part of the National Team and have competed at international

Budget and due dates

Pretendemos angariar os fundos entre início de Setembro e fim de Janeiro. O valor pretendido será aplicado na compra de uma Trave Olímpica e um Tapete de Proteção. A Trave de competição existente está muito degradada e não apresenta as condições mínimas de segurança. O Lisboa Ginásio Clube está a passar uma situação complicada a nível financeiro e a curto prazo não consegue adquirir este material.
