We need your help to finish the House of Honey, one beekeeping space / agricultural and educational purposes. We naturalist beekeeping and want more and more aware of the importance of building a ecocentric culture.

This project aims to finish the construction of a place for our beekeeping and gardening activities, and will also host a diversity of workshops covering natural beekeeping, gardening, healthy food, permaculture and so on. In this way we expect our farm will become a place of reference and inspiration to construct different cultural practices based on ecological principles.

We are an organic bee farm operating according to the principles of Permaculture, where we aim to harmoniously integrate plants, animals, buildings, and people within a sound productive system.

About the author

Denis Hickel (1974) is an architect, researcher, beekeeper and also facilitator of local initiatives for ecological living. Juliana Moojen (1977) is a journalist and management specialist. Together they found the Alecrim Farm, situated in a small village near the city of Torres Novas, Portugal. Their general interest is to learn the dynamics of ecological systems to promote ways of living accordingly.

Budget and due dates

Our new building is already under construction; however, we still need to complete a kitchen, a bathroom and some of the other building features. We need 6400€, but we are asking only a part of this budget to make our crowdfunding feasible and to start our activities in the new building as soon as possible. So the money from this crowdfunding will go for: -Kitchen 2500€, -WC 1000€, - wall cladding 1000€. It will take no longer than 60 days to complete.
