The XI Expedition already happens in the 5th, 6th and 7th December and will count on the participation of several female Tunas from the whole country.
The "XI Expedição" is a project that combines the university world with the academic spirit and culture, spreading the name of our city, Lisbon, as well as the name of the institution that has received us, the Instituto Superior Técnico.
We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year and so, we intend to organise the 11th edition of our festival of female Tunas, the Expedição.
In previous editions the Expedição had the pleasure to count on the presence of Tunas from the whole country, including the islands, as well as the special participation of some guests who enrich the scene of the Portuguese music, such as Simone de Oliveira, the famous conductor Nuno Feist, present artists like Lúcia Moniz and Daniela Varela, among other figures.
The XI Expedition already happens in the 5th, 6th and 7th December and will count on the participation of several female Tunas from the whole country. It will be a weekend in which the other regions of Portugal will head towards Lisbon in order to share stories, traditions and, above all, a lot of music.
Being the Tuna that is organising it, we would like our guests to be touched by the magic of Lisbon, getting to know the corners and traditions of the Portuguese capital, which has been our home for 20 years.

About the author
On the 15th December 1994 the members of the TFIST tucked up their gowns and performed officially, for the first time in their home, the IST, owing to the wish of a group of friends who wanted to spread the name of our school through the good Portuguese music.
Embracing the academic spirit and linking it with the musical training, the will to go further and the dedication of its members, the TFIST has been leaving its mark on the whole country for the last 20 years – Lisbon, Oporto, Coimbra, Faro, Évora, Aveiro, Braga, Madeira, the Azores – always taking the names of the IST and the city of Lisbon.
In each journey we share our tradition and music and we come back richer, with new stories, learning and knowledge. Such experiences enrich us and make us grow up both as individuals and as a group, teaching us how to balance the several activities of our life, in this case the studies and the Tuna.
Inside the TFIST we share friendship, learning, fellowship and respect. Living TFIST is a different way of experiencing academic life, meeting people, enjoying and sharing one`s life.
In the last 20 years there were many members who joined this school of life, and, in spite of having moved towards new professional, personal and familiar paths, they go on keeping the small amount of our Tuna, which belongs to them - an endless number of stories, melodies, lessons and friendships that will remain forever.
