The work is in the final phase of editing and about to enter the pagination stage in order to be published in the first half of 2017, the year in which the 150th anniversary of the birth of Manuel da Silva Mendes is marked.

About the author
João F. O. Botas was born in Portugal in 1971. He lived in the 1980s in Macau where he graduated from the Lyceum and made his debut in the world of communication to TDM-Rádio Macau microphones.
Graduated in Social Communication (UNL / FCSH) since 1995, he worked as a press officer and as a journalist on radio, press and television.
He has collaborated with several publications: Macau Destination, Macao Tribuna Journal, A Voz, etc.
He is currently a journalist on RTP Rádio e Televisão de Portugal.
He participated as a guest in several conferences / lectures held in Macau: Rui Cunha Foundation (2013) and Macau Portuguese School (2013 and 2016); And Portugal: Rotary Club of Algés (2013), "Macau Naratives" at the Museum of the Orient in 2013, International Conference "Media and Portuguese Empire (XVIII-XX Century) at the CCB in 2013.
As author, he published several books: "Macao High School: 1893-1999" (ed. Author - 2007), "Macao 1937-1945: Years of War" (ed. 2016 "(ed. CMP - 2016). Co-authored "Wartime Macau: Under the Japanese Shadow" (ed. Hong Kong University Press - 2016).
He is also the author of the blog Macau Antigo - macauantigo.blogspot.com - project dedicated to the spread of the history of Macao created in 2008 and that already has more than a million pageviews.
Miguel Chinopa is the author of the cover and graphic design of the project.
Budget and due dates
Editing, copyright, pagination, image processing, printing and promotion: € 6,500
Goal of the campaign: raise € 2,000
The missing amounts will be supported with institutional sponsors and sale of the book whose predictable PVP is 15 € / unit.
The campaign runs until 20 March 2017.
