Nuno Quintanilha's passion is to swim and his dream is to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 representing Portugal . Let's all help to make his dream come true !! Nuno needs our support ! Thank you all for your generosity !
The Swimming Club Vasco da Gama (CNCVG), a nonprofit institution, is one of the swim clubs with most visibility at the regional and national levels in competitive swimming, swimming for athletes with disabilities, and more recently in triathlon. The club and its booster club have the dream of bringing Nuno Quintanilha to the Olympic Games of Rio in 2016. In 2008 two swimmers of CNCVG, Sara Madeira and Nuno Quintanilha almost made it to the Olympic Games. The Portuguese Swimming Federation is generously supporting Nuno Quintanilha. But lots of resources (athletes and coaches' time, effort, and funding to participate in international competitions) are needed for swimmers to qualify. Nuno has a strong will, a characteristic of those who know that dreams are only achieved by hard work, dedication, and by never giving up even in the face of adversity. Nuno has already achieved the minimum B cuts for the Olympic Games of Rio in 2016. Despite his success, only with the minimum A cuts will he be able to qualify. He is VERY close and he needs all our support to get ready and to be able to participate in international swim meets where he will have a chance to achieve the so desired minimum A cuts.
Other clubs, who do not have the financial difficulties of CNCVG, have tried to recruit Nuno to join them. But, his loyalty to his coach and CNCVG, where he has been swimming since the age of 10, have kept him on.
