This project was created by two portuguese young professionals, a medical doctor and a primary school teacher, who propose themselves going on a humanitarian mission to Guinea-Bissau, for the period of one year. Their aim is to work in the Franciscan mission of Cumura, a small-sized village aprox. 8 miles from Bissau. They will be there from the 10th September 2015 until June 2016 and work in the hospital and school of the mission. This crowdfunding project was created in order to raise funds...

We are two young people from Lisbon, a medical doctor and a primary school teacher, that for a long time have wished to go on a humanitarian mission.

The time has come!

Three years ago we heard about the mission of Cumura in Guinea-Bissau, a Franciscan mission with more than 50 years of existence, but still with several shortcomings in the area of health and education. This proved to be the right place for us to collaborate with. Originally Cumura was a leprosarium, but today is one of the most important missions of Guinea-Bissau, with a large hospital and with a school for 650 students.

We will leave for the field on the 10th September 2015, to work as volunteers alongside Doctor Alice Ferreira, a portuguese pediatrician that has cooperated with the friars and nuns for several years now.

We made a small survey for some of the materials most wanted in the mission and came out with a small list of the biggest priorities you can check below. The acquisition of those item is the sole goal of this cowdfunding project and we kindly ask for your generosity.

Here you have some english language-sources where you can find out a bit more about the Mission:

    Final da Campanha! Conseguimos!!

    Amigos do "Pé da Guiné"!

    Conseguimos!!

    Fiquem atentos e fiquem connosco!

    Um abraço cheio de gratidão
    Ana Maria e João
