Semear Saúde

We planned to develop activities (complementary therapies such as Reiki, meditation, acupuncture, etc.), nutrition consultations and many others, to minimize the effects of conventional treatments (surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy) and increase self-esteem and well-being of cancer patients in the region. For this, the Semear Saúde Association needs your help, just so we can provide, to our cancer patients, all to increase and value their human dignity.

After the success of the academic project Semear Saúde in the Algarve University in 2014/2015, where we developed activities in the area of health promotion and prevention of oncological diseases, such as  anti cancer nutrition workshops, awareness campaigns - Change Nicotine for Vitamin - and many others, the recent Associação Semear Saúde wants  to continue with the activities already developed and also support cancer patients in Algarve region.

About the author

Cláudia Maria Carmo Brito, Social Educator and master's student in the School of Health Sciences, University of Algarve and Henrique Dias Freire, Director of the newspaper "Postal do Algarve, members of the governing bodies of the Seed Association Health.

After the success of the academic project - Semear Saúde - these two members together with seven others who took part in it (course of food engineering teachers, cancer patients, dieticians, professionals from the field of education, accounting and others), decided to enhance the their skills, not only in the area of prevention of oncological and other diseases, as well as support for cancer patients. To improve the lives of more people, Semear Saúde Association needs your help, just so we can provide, to our cancer patients, all which increases and enhances their human dignity.

Budget and due dates

Budget - 2,000€ (two thousand euros) divided into the following sections:

1,800€ for the purchase of 18 portable massage table (value of 100 euros each) that will be placed in four offices and two rooms of the association space);

200€ - support to promote next activities (flyers, posters, etc.).
